Setup guide for Klue HubSpot Data Sync
Klue’s HubSpot Data Sync connects HubSpot Deals, Companies, Contacts, and Owners to Klue’s competitive intelligence platform, which lets users:
- See exactly how much pipeline is at stake in competitive deals, filterable by competitor, rep, and company, using CRM data refreshed daily.
- Turn every closed HubSpot deal into a structured win or loss story, including competitor dynamics, objections, and the positioning moves that decided the outcome.
- Get reps a Deal Tip — positioning, proof points, objection handling — the moment Klue detects a competitor on a HubSpot deal.
Install the app
- Log in to Klue and go to Apps & Integrations.
- Find the HubSpot Data Sync tile and click Install.
- If this is your first time connecting, click Add New Authentication. Optionally name the authentication (e.g. to tell a sandbox apart from your production HubSpot account), then click Continue.
- A new window opens to connect Klue to HubSpot. Sign in to your HubSpot account, or create one, and select the account you want to connect.
- Review the requested scopes on this screen. Klue requests read-only access to view properties and details on Deals, Companies, Contacts, and to view details about the Owner (user) assigned to a CRM record. Additionally, Klue can keep your competitors up to date within HubSpot. If you want to make use of this feature, check the “Write Competitor Mentions back to HubSpot” box. Click Connect app to grant access.
- You’ll be redirected back to Klue, where your new authentication is already selected. Click Next to start mapping your CRM fields.
Configure the app
The core of Klue’s HubSpot Data Sync is one way and read-only: Klue reads from HubSpot to power its own reports. Optionally, Klue can also update Deals in HubSpot with live detected competitors. The configuration for all functionality is limited to mapping fields.
- Map your Deal fields (required). Most fields auto-match; the one you’ll need to map manually is Competitors, since HubSpot has no predefined field for it.
- Click Next to map Company fields. This step is optional, but mapping it enables additional filters in Competitive Revenue Analytics.
- Click Next to map Contact fields. This is optional unless Win-Loss is enabled on your Klue account, in which case it’s required — map Email, First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, Title, and (if applicable) GDPR/CASL Consented and Email Opted-Out.
- Click Finish & Sync. Klue confirms the connection and starts syncing.
Use the app
Once connected, Klue automatically keeps your HubSpot Deal, Company, Contact, and Owner data synced, according to the field mappings configured above. No manual action is required day to day. Competitive Revenue Analytics reports refresh daily, so expect newly synced data to appear the next day rather than instantly. You can check sync status at any time from Apps & Integrations by selecting Status on the HubSpot Data Sync tile, which shows which objects are synced or syncing.
Disconnect the app
Note: If you disconnect HubSpot Data Sync, Klue stops reading CRM data from your HubSpot account immediately, and Klue deletes the synced records from its own system almost immediately. Reports you’ve already generated may keep cached data for some time after that. Klue does not remove anything after disconnecting — for Companies, Contacts, and Owners nothing was ever written to HubSpot in the first place; for Deals, if you had the competitor write-back feature enabled, any competitor data Klue already wrote to the Deal stays on the record.
- Log in to Klue and go to Apps & Integrations.
- Find the HubSpot Data Sync tile and click the three-dot menu in its top-right corner.
- Select Delete to disconnect the integration and stop the sync.
Uninstall the app
To remove Klue’s access from within your HubSpot account directly, follow HubSpot’s own instructions for disconnecting a connected app: Connect apps to HubSpot — uninstall an app.
