Series B Thoughts, Tesla’s Competitive Advantage, Competitive Enablement Summit

💵 Maybe Everyone Will Get a Boat…I’d Like a Boat 💵

I have a confession to make: I am new to the world of startups.

So when I heard we raised $62m in Series B funding, I understood only a few things:

  • This is good news
  • ‘Series B’ must mean there was a ‘Series A’ before that
  • I better start learning more about funding rounds

But even if you have experienced a round or two of raises, it’s not always obvious where that money will go or the impact it will have.

Luckily for me, Jason, Gsar, and the leadership team made it super clear how this money was going to make a difference:

Investing in product, investing in people, and making sure we’re doing everything we can to enable our customers to win more deals.

Of course, it’s fun to daydream about some of that money magically finding its way into my wallet.

And since the content team here at Klue is constantly looking for ways to live out our dreams, watch as Social Media and Content Coordinator Grayson takes you through what his $62m daydream looked like.

Tesla is in fierce competition for electric vehicle supremacy

Fun fact: the ground floor of my apartment building is a Tesla dealership. On any given day, I walk by 50 Teslas just to get to my own car.

(A 2008 Jeep Patriot — decidedly not a Tesla).

For the better part of a decade, I’ve just accepted that there’s only one electric vehicle (EV) show in town, and that show is Tesla.

But then I read that Volkswagen, perennially the first or second-largest automaker in the world, announced it would produce an all-electric fleet by 2040. Ford and GM followed with eco-conscious commitments of their own.

As I gave in to my curiosity — as all writers should — I dug deeper and found that VW had actually briefly eclipsed Tesla in EV sales in Q4 2020.

Then, as I began to put pen to paper (or finger to key, as it were) Lucid Motors announced its vehicles can outperform Tesla’s max range by over 100 miles.

Long story short: Tesla’s competitors have not capitulated in the battle for EV supremacy. Legacy carmakers, EV startups, and Chinese automotive giants are all gunning for Mr. Musk.

Long story long: check out my dive into what the near future has in store for the once-mighty King of electric vehicles.

As a special bonus, I’ve included a picture of my dad standing in front of his beloved electric car in the blog.

And no, he does not know I’m including it in this newsletter.

🎥  It’s a Time for Giving 🎥

The first-ever Competitive Enablement Summit is coming. Here's what to expect

Competitive Enablement Summit Videos Available on Youtube

If there were 12 videos to share, I would have made some clever “12 Days of Christmas” reference.

If there were 8, something about Hannukah.

Bad news for me: there are 9 videos.

Good news for everyone else: you can now access all 9 spectacular speaker sessions from the first-ever Competitive Enablement Summit on our Youtube Channel

To say we had a blast during the Summit would be an understatement.

It was an incredible experience being able to watch, listen and learn from some of the brightest minds in competitive enablement, competitive intelligence, sales, product marketing, and much more.

For me personally, having joined Klue only two weeks prior, it was the absolute best crash course in CE and CI you could ask for.

And now, we’ve uploaded the sessions to Youtube so you can watch your favourite sessions again and again, and again.

Happy Holidays from everyone here at Klue!
